BARRIE, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies faced a tough challenge against the Durham Lords on January 18, 2025, falling in straight sets (19-25, 20-25, 15-25) despite showing flashes of resilience and effort. Monika Kochanowski (Windsor, ON) led the Grizzlies' offense with six kills on 20 attempts, contributing eight points overall. Emma Kot (Weyburn, SK) added four kills, while setter Mackenzie Roy (Edmonton, AB) orchestrated the attack with 17 assists.
Defensively, Cassidy McClenaghan (Whitby, ON) stood out, leading the team with 14 digs. The Grizzlies managed a team total of 38 digs in their effort to fend off Durham's potent attack. However, they struggled with consistency at the net, posting a .024 hitting percentage, hampered by 15 attack errors across the three sets.
Despite the loss, the Grizzlies showed moments of grit and determination, especially in the opening two sets, where they pushed the Lords before losing ground late.
