Fitness Class Descriptions
Ready to begin your fitness journey but not sure where to start? We're here to help with Fitness Classes every semester!
Hatha Yoga for beginners: This class will focus on strengthening and stretching, finding a balance throughout the practice, both physically and mindfully as well working our core strength. All levels welcome, modifications will be provided as needed.
Vinyasa Yoga: Join us for this Yoga class that seamlessly connects movement with breath. Vinyasa often referred to as “flow yoga,” emphasizes fluid transitions between poses, creating a dynamic and energetic practice. All levels are welcome; modifications and variations will be offered.
Spin: Join this fun yet intense cardio-based class that takes place on a Keiser M3i Bike. Riders are challenged both mentally and physically as they work though a variety of class profiles including hills, flats, sprints, jumps, intervals, and more alongside fantastic playlists. Class suited for all fitness levels.
Tabata: Higher intensity, shorter duration, powerful results! This high-intensity strength and cardiovascular training class will push your body! A variety of exercises in Tabata intervals will be used to increase your aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, and resting metabolic rate.
TRX & Abs: The TRX suspension trainer is a training tool that uses gravity and the participants bodyweight to help develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. All fitness levels welcome!
Bootcamp: This class combines the best of cardiovascular and strength training. Expect to challenge your mind and body as you alternate between high and low intensity exercises through timed intervals of various pieces of equipment, plyometrics, and cardio work.
Vin Yin Yoga: This class begins with Vinyasa, which warms the body up through a sequence of movements. The second half of the class is Yin Yoga, which is a restorative sequence of held poses. Vin Yin Yoga seamlessly blends the yang elements of an active Vinyasa practice with the soothing restorative benefits of Yin Yoga.
Metabolic Conditioning: Looking for a great calorie burner while also building muscle definition? This class will run through 3 fast paced rounds consisting of intense cardio, compound movements with a variety of equipment, and core training.
Guided Meditation: This session provides simple and effective breath and meditation practices to release mental, emotional, and physical tension. No previous meditation experience is required.
Aerobic Step: This is a class cardio workout. The “step” is a raised platform where you step up, around, and down from the platform in difference patterns to boost your heart rate and breathing and strengthen your muscles. Step aerobics moves range from simple to advanced. All levels are welcome to join.
