BARRIE, ON -- Georgian locked in defensively in the fourth quarter to close out a 63-52 win over Seneca on Friday night. The Grizzlies set the tone early, taking a four-point lead after the first quarter and never looking back. Lily Roberts-Neef (St. Thomas, ON) led the way with 17 points on an efficient 7-for-12 shooting, including three triples. Sydney Shawyer (Horshoe Valley, ON) provided a spark off the bench, knocking down four threes of her own to finish with 16 points.
Despite shooting struggles from deep (27% from three), Georgian controlled the game with ball movement and defensive pressure. Ami May (Raymond, AB) filled the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds, and a game-high eight assists, while Kyanna Thompson (Barrie, ON) anchored the interior with four blocks. The Grizzlies forced 28 Seneca turnovers and held their opponents to just seven points in the final frame, sealing their third straight victory.
