KINGSTON, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance against the St. Lawrence Surge, securing a decisive 74-44 victory. Dominating from the start, the Grizzlies' balanced offense and relentless defense set the tone, outscoring the Surge in every quarter.
Kory Hook (Barrie, ON) led the offensive charge with 17 points, including three three-pointers, while Lily Roberts-Neef (St. Thomas, ON) contributed 13 points and a game-high five steals, showcasing her defensive prowess. Off the bench, Daija Thompson (Whitby, ON) provided a spark with 13 points and six steals, further fueling Georgian's transition game. The Grizzlies' defensive pressure was evident, forcing 31 turnovers and converting them into 33 points.
The team's dominance extended to the paint, where they outscored the Surge 36-10 and pulled down 36 rebounds, led by Emma Vale (Newmarket, ON) with 11 boards.
