Oshawa, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies fought their way to a gritty five-set victory over the Durham Lords on Friday night in Oshawa, improving to an impressive 10-1 record in the OCAA season. The match showcased both resilience and determination, as Georgian overcame a first-set deficit to secure a 3-2 win (21-25, 25-18, 26-24, 21-25, 15-11).
Ryan Vriezma (Midhurst, ON) led the charge for the Grizzlies with a stellar 18 kills and two aces, finishing with a match-high 21 points. Kaleb Cole (Stratford, ON) and Gage McCurdy (Burlington, ON) also made significant contributions with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Setter Ethan Eiselt-Rolfe (Barrie, ON) orchestrated the offense masterfully, dishing out 51 assists, while the team's defensive effort, anchored by Aandon Burton's (Barrie, ON) 13 digs, kept Durham's attack in check.
