MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEP LANCERS AT HOME
Cameron Calhoun led the Grizzlies in scoring with 10 points as Georgian defeated Loyalist 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Barrie.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team hosted the Loyalist Lancers on Saturday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
The Grizzlies were able to rally from a 24-21 deficit in the first set to win the set 27-25. Georgian then were able to take the next two sets 25-14 and 25-19 to sweep the Lancers 3-0.
Cameron Calhoun (Stayner) led the Grizzlies in scoring with 10 points from eight kills along with an ace and a block. The veteran also led the team with seven digs.
Teammate Gibson Graham (Markham) led the team with 27 assists while also registering six points and five digs.
The Grizzlies moved into second place in the OCAA east division as they now hold a 10-3 record on the season.
The Grizzlies will head on the road for games against Algonquin on Feb. 1, La Cite on Feb. 2 and Fleming on Feb. 7.
Georgian will play their next home game on Wednesday, Feb. 12 when they host the George Brown Huskies at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The women's game gets underway at 6 p.m. followed by the men's at 8 p.m.
