MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEP COLTS ON THE ROAD
The Georgian men's volleyball swept the Colts 3-0 on Tuesday night by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-17.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team opened up their second half of the season with their first game of 2020 on Tuesday night when they took on the Centennial Colts in Scarborough.
It was a great start for the men's team as they were able to make quick work of the Colts.
Georgian carried the play leading to a 3-0 sweep over Centennial by set scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-17.
The Grizzlies were once again led by Kaelan Kloetstra, who continues to make an impact in his rookie season. The London native had 18 points in the contest from 13 kills, four aces and a block.
Kloetstra leads the Grizzlies in scoring this season and is ranked fifth overall in the OCAA averaging 4.7 points-per-set.
Teammate Gibson Graham (Markham) was also solid, leading the team with three blocks as part of a nine-point effort to go along with 17 assists.
The Grizzlies improved their regular season record to 8-2 and sit in a tie for second place in the OCAA east division standings with the Canadore Panthers, their next opponent who they will face this Saturday in North Bay.
Georgian's next home volleyball game will take place next Wednesday, Jan. 22 when they host the Seneca Sting at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The women's game gets underway at 6 p.m. with the men's following at approximately 8 p.m.
