Grizzlies Dominate Seneca Sting in Home Opener with 51-7 Victory
Barrie, ON -- After a tough loss in their season opener against the St. Lawrence Surge, the Grizzlies came out with something to prove in their home opener at J.C. Massie Field, demolishing the Seneca Sting 51-7. The Grizzlies took control early, carrying a commanding lead into halftime and never looking back.
Rielly Kirk (Wasaga Beach, ON) was a standout performer, racking up three tries, one celebration punctuated by a peace sign. Kade Rennie’s (Collingwood, ON) precise kicking added another 8 points, including a pivotal 3-point penalty kick, making his presence felt throughout the match.
First-year sensation Mack McKenzie (Guelph, ON) made a memorable impact, storming through for two tries, while Ethan Murray (Barrie, ON) electrified the crowd with a blistering run down the wing to secure his first home try of the season.
Jake Boulding (Barrie, ON), a piece of the Grizzlies' 2016 gold medal squad, added to the onslaught, crossing the line twice.
