Grizzlies Rugby finish regular season with perfect record
Georgian went a perfect 6-0 in the regular season by defeating Sheridan 41-17 on Sunday.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team wrapped up their regular season schedule with a trip to take on the Sheridan Bruins on Sunday afternoon in Oakville.
Georgian had another complete effort to defeat their division rivals 41-17.
Kirk Sarfo led the way scoring two tries while his brother Edwin Sarfo led the team in points with a try and three converts.
Nick Brace, Drew Currie, Jordan Henstra and Mark Rodman had the other tries for the Grizzlies.
The win capped off an impressive stretch for the Grizzlies as they finish the regular season with a perfect 6-0 record, tops in the OCAA.
Georgian finishes with a league high 292 points scored, nearly 200 points more than their next OCAA west division competitor. They also led the league in points against, allowing a league low 64 points.
The Grizzlies now move onto the playoffs and have earned a bye through the first round. Georgian will play host in the semi-finals round against the winner of the St. Lawrence – Kingston Vikings versus Mohawk Mountaineers playoff game that takes place this coming weekend.
The Grizzlies semi-final game against either St. Lawrence – Kingston or Mohawk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Georgian Sports Field.
