Men's Basketball Edge Out Algonquin in Nail-Biter

Ottawa, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies secured a narrow 80-78 victory over Algonquin. The Grizzlies started strong, outscoring Algonquin by ten points in the first quarter, fueled by Jason Sache (Kanata, ON)'s offensive dominance. Sache proved unstoppable, racking up an impressive 25 points on a near-perfect 10-of-11 shooting.

Despite Algonquin's resurgence in the second quarter, where they clawed back with a 26-point burst, Georgian maintained composure. Trey Wilson (Barrie, ON), a reliable force for the Grizzlies, contributed 19 points, including two clutch three-pointers and seven free throws. Kevonte Anderson (Toronto, ON) and Sean Marseille (Paris, FR) led the defensive efforts, each grabbing eight rebounds, keeping the Grizzlies competitive on both ends of the court.

The fourth quarter saw Algonquin make a final push, but Georgian's balanced offense and persistent defense carried them through. Georgian's 53.1% field goal shooting outshone Algonquin's 40%, underscoring the Grizzlies' efficient night.
