Grizzlies defeat La Cité, win fifth consecutive game
Barrie, ON -- Grizzlies defeat La Cité 85-80, win fifth consecutive game.
The first quarter of the game was closely contested, with La Cite taking a slim one-point lead of 19-18. However, Georgian College fought back in the second quarter, outscoring La Cite 24-17 to take a 42-36 lead going into halftime.
The third quarter saw Georgian College extend their lead further, scoring 26 points compared to La Cite's 20 points. With just one quarter left to play, Georgian College had a comfortable lead of 68-56. However, La Cite refused to go down without a fight and put up a strong performance in the final quarter, scoring 24 points. Despite their efforts, they were unable to overcome Georgian College's lead, and the game ended with a final score of 85-80 in favor of Georgian College.
Grizzlies' Sean Marseille (Newmarket, ON) was the standout player, scoring a game-high 20 points and adding 6 rebounds and two steals. Julien Duker (Toronto, ON) also had an excellent game, contributing 20 points and 4 rebounds.
Georgian also displayed strong shooting percentages, with shooting 45.3% from the field, 38.7% from beyond the arc, and 65.2% from the free-throw line.
Overall, the game was a closely contested battle. Georgian College's strong second and third quarters ultimately proved to be the difference, as they were able to maintain their lead despite La Cite's late surge in the fourth quarter.
