Grizzlies finish strong at Base Borden tune-up
Georgian had the top five finishers on the men's side and had five of the top 15 runners on the women's side
The Georgian Grizzlies Men's and women's cross country teams had an impressive showing while taking part in the Base Borden run this past Sunday.
The men's team claimed the first five places in the 5km event with Tyler Thomson setting the pace at a time of 18:14.
Sean Barich (2nd – 18:31), Adam Skinner (3rd – 19:08), Justin Dawson (4th - 19:27) and Gill Garrido (5th – 19:31) rounded out the Georgian contingent.
On the women's side Serafima Stilman was the top Georgian runner finishing in 3rd place with a time of 21:42.
The Grizzlies had a total of five runners finish in the top 15 with Meaghan Evon (4th – 21:50), Courtney Sherk (6th – 22:20), Robin Whiffing (10th – 24:05) and Desiree Allen (12th – 24:48) putting together solid runs.
Georgian will return to OCAA competition at the Seneca Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.
