Grizzlies women's volleyball win five set thriller over Loyalist
Quinn McGregor had 15 kills as the Grizzlies went the distance to beat the Lancers 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team hosted the Loyalist Lancers on Sunday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The game was an incredible tight battle that went the full distance.
Both teams entered with matching 4-2 records on the season and there was little that separated the two teams in the match.
After dropping the first set, the Grizzlies responded back to take the next two. Loyalist showed their own resiliency as they took the fourth set to send it to a tiebreak.
In the fifth and deciding set, the Grizzlies were able to get up and hold on for a thrilling 3-2 win (20-25, 25-23, 29-27, 16-25, 15-11).
Camryn Morgan had a great game for Georgian recording a team high 17 kills along with one ace. Quinn McGregor was also solid once again with 15 kills and an ace of her own.
Loyalist's Sara Piana Yafu was a standout for the visitors as she recorded 29 kills in the contest.
Georgian now sits in a tie for third place in the OCAA east division standings.
