Grizzlies women's volleyball hold serve against Coyotes
The Grizzlies snapped their two-game losing skid with an impressive 3-1 victory over the Coyotes
Playing their second game in just two days the Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team found endurance wouldn't be the only obstacle against a challenging La Cite Coyotes squad on Sunday.
Looking to end their two-game losing streak, The Grizzlies came out strong and were impressive in a 3-1 victory over the Coyotes (25-13, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23).
Ashley Mavreas was great from the line posting five serving aces to go along with four kills and three blocks.
Rookie Kristen Rymarchuk got the start and was solid, posting seven kills, two aces and a block. Third year veteran Quinn McGregor once again led the team in kills with 10 on the afternoon.
The Grizzlies now hold a 4-2 record and currently sit in fourth place in the OCAA east division standings.
Georgian will be back in action next Sunday, Nov. 20 when they host the Loyalist Lancers at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 3 p.m.
