WINDSOR, ON -– The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball kicked off the 2023-24 exhibition season with a split on the road playing a pair of games at St. Clair College.
In their first game on Saturday against the host Saints, St. Clair jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 76-48 win over the Grizzlies.
Rookie Ami May (Raymond, AB) led the Grizzlies with 9 points.
On Sunday, the Grizzlies bounced back with a decisive 89-51 over the George Brown Huskies.
Janella Viado (Milton, ON) scored 21 of her game-high 25 points in the first half and Kyanna Thompson (Barrie, ON) added 16 points. May was the other Grizzly in double figures with 15.
Georgian continues their pre-season next weekend taking on Conestoga and Mohawk on the road.
