Men's volleyball push streak to 13
The Grizzlies won in three tight sets to remain unbeaten on the season.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team was pushed hard on Sunday afternoon against the La Cite Coyotes in Ottawa but in the end the league's only undefeated team remained just that.
Georgian won in straight sets but all of them were hard fought with the Grizzlies coming out on top 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-21).
Darien Haynes led the way for the Grizzlies with 14 points (12 kills, 1 service ace, 1 block) on the afternoon. Teammate Jordi Romero had 10 points (9 kills, 1 block).
The Grizzlies improved their record to a perfect 13-0 and sit atop the OCAA east division standings.
The win sets up a big match up this coming Thursday, Jan. 26 against the Durham Lords (12-1) in Oshawa. The Grizzlies have been the only team to defeat the second place Lords this season which they did back on Nov. 3.
Georgian's next home game will be on Tuesday, Jan. 31 when they host the George Brown Huskies at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 8 p.m.
