Still perfect - Georgian men's volleyball undefeated through first half of the season
Darien Haynes goes for a kill, he played a big role in getting the Grizzlies to a 9-0 record this season
As the wins continued to pile up it became the goal for the men's volleyball team...to finish the first half undefeated.
On Sunday only one team was left remaining in their way, the Centennial Colts.
Georgian was once again dominant on the road sweeping Centennial in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-14).
The Grizzlies used a balanced attack in the win led by Jake Edwards who had 10 points (9 kills, 1 ace) and Darien Haynes who had nine points (5 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks).
The win capped off an incredible first-half for the Grizzlies as they finish with a 9-0 record while managing to have a set advantage of 27-3. No other team has won more or has lost fewer sets.
Georgian are the only undefeated team in the entire OCAA and sit in first place in the east division standings.
Still the season is only at its midway point and there are lots of games to be played.
The Grizzlies will have several weeks to prepare for the second half of the season which kicks-off on Wednesday, Jan. 11 when they host the Canadore Panthers at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
