Grizzlies take down Wolves 83-74, taking record to 5-3
Barrie, ON -- Georgian emerged victorious over Algonquin with a final score of 83-74. The game was closely contested throughout, with both teams showing competitive spirit, but ultimately Georgian's brief fourth quarter run was the difference maker.
The first quarter ended with a tie score of 17-17, indicating the evenly matched nature of the game. Georgian managed to take a slim lead in the second quarter, by outscoring Algonquin 22-19. The third quarter saw Georgian extend their lead further, outscoring Algonquin 22-20. In the final quarter, Georgian maintained their momentum, scoring 22 points compared to Algonquin's 18, securing their victory.
Georgian had a balanced scoring effort, with Kevonte Anderson (Toronto, ON) leading the team with 17 points and 8 rebounds, followed by Janko Lam (Markham, ON) with 12 points off the bench. Julien Duker (Toronto, ON) and Jomar Dela Rosa (Bradford, ON) contributed significantly in other aspects of the game. Duker scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Dela Rosa scored 9 points, had five rebounds along with four assists.
