BARRIE, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies hosted the George Brown Huskies for their home opener on Wednesday night.
The Grizzlies forced nine turnovers taking a four point lead at the end first quarter. Huskies bit back in the second quarter forcing seven Grizzly turnovers. George Brown led by three at the end of the first half. The third quarter was all Grizzlies led by Julien Duker’s (Toronto, ON) defensive presence and offensive vision producing four steals and four assists on a 25-11 quarter-long run. After the Grizzlies took a commanding lead, the fourth quarter was all about clock management. George Brown attempted to mount a comeback, but there was not enough time remaining. Grizzlies win 84-72.
Julian Duker finished with seven points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Kevonte Anderson (Toronto, ON) had a team-high 18 points, followed by bench performances from 15 points off the bench from Luc Tourigny (Barrie, ON) and nine points, six steals and four assists also off the bench for Zere Christie (Cookstown, ON).
The Grizzlies are back in action on Friday, November 3 hosting Seneca at 8:00pm.
