FOURTH QUARTER COMEBACK PROPELS GRIZZLIES TO VICTORY

The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team hosted their first game of the new year at the Georgian Athletic Centre on Saturday afternoon in Barrie.
It was a game that came right down to the wire as the Grizzlies hosted the Fleming Knights.
Georgian orchestrated a huge fourth quarter comeback to pull off a big victory.
Trailing by as much as nine points with less than five minutes to play, the Grizzlies went on a run led by Anthony Meggo (Whitby) who scored 16 of his 30 points in the game in the fourth quarter alone as Georgian won the game 86-81.
Tyler Vanessen (Whitby) led the Grizzlies in scoring with a 31 point effort, just one off his season high.
The win snaps a three game losing streak for the Grizzlies who now sit with a 6-7 record on the season putting them in a tie for seventh in the OCAA east division standings.
Georgian will be back in action when they host the La Cite Coyotes next Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. Both the men's and women's teams will also be in action on Saturday, Jan. 26 when they host the Algonquin Thunder with the women's game at 1 p.m. and the men's following at 3 p.m.
