EMILIE TYNDALL NAMED CCAA ALL-CANADIAN
Georgian's Emilie Tyndall was named a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association All-Canadian on Monday night in Oshawa.
Georgian Grizzlies women's golfer Emilie Tyndall was named a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association All-Canadian at the awards banquet for the 2017 PING CCAA Golf National Championships on Monday night in Oshawa, ON.
Tyndall was the individual gold medalist at this year's OCAA Championships earlier this month while also helping her women's team to a second place finish at the event.
The Kirkland, QC native finished no lower than fourth place with two second place finishes in the four OCAA invitational tournaments prior to provincials she played in. She was instrumental in leading the Grizzlies women's team to three invitational tournament victories along with a second place finish.
The CCAA All-Canadian award also factors in leadership and fair play qualities, something Tyndall shines at. Tyndall's positive attitude has been the driving force of the incredible success of Georgian's success at both the provincial and national levels the last number of years. Her sportsmanship is unmatched with the respect of not only her teammates but her fellow competitors.
The fifth year student in the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Golf Management) program continues to build on her incredible collegiate career.
This is her second CCAA All-Canadian award having previously won in 2015. Last year she was named a CCAA Academic All-Canadian combining her excellence on the course and the classroom. She has won two previous CCAA medals as a member of the women's team with gold in 2016 and bronze in 2015.
Tyndall led Georgian's women's team to a gold medal at the provincial championships in two of the last three seasons and was the individual silver medalist at the OCAA Championships back in 2015.
In her last season of play, Tyndall along with teammate Addison Wallwin will be looking to defend their national women's team title at the PING CCAA Golf National Championships this week. The first of four of four rounds gets underway on Wednesday.
