BADMINTON TEAM WRAPS UP FIRST HALF SCHEDULE
The Grizzlies had another good showing at the Kim Ng Open Invitational hosted by George Brown College this past weekend.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's badminton team travelled to compete in the Kim Ng Open Invitational hosted by George Brown College this past weekend in Toronto, ON.
Ethan Zhao (China) continues to be the foundation of the Grizzlies team as he along with teammate Michelle Kozlowskyj (Garson) made it all the way to the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles competition.
Zhao also made it to the quarter-finals in the men's doubles with Eric Kern.
Kozlowskyj had a good run at the tournament as she was a quarter-finalist in the women's singles competition while also teaming up with Lily Song from George Brown College in women's doubles where they earned a semi-finals berth.
Fen Lin (China) was a quarter-finalist in the men's singles consolation round.
The Grizzlies will now have a few weeks off to prepare for their busy stretch of the schedule which will kick-off Jan. 12-14 when the team plays in the Centennial Invitational and then followed by the St. Clair Invitational on Jan. 19-21.
Those tournaments lead up to the OCAA East Regionals which will be hosted by Centennial College on Feb. 2-3, 2018. The event will determine who will move on to the provincial championships.
