The first two sets were closely contested, with Georgian narrowly winning 26-24 and 27-25. However, Algonquin bounced back in the third set, winning 25-15. They continued their momentum in the fourth and fifth sets, winning 25-18, and 15-10 respectively.
Georgian had standout performances as well. Carina Brooks (Caledon, ON) led the team with 16 kills, while Emily Dixon (Kemptville, ON) contributed 13 kills. Mackenzie Roy (Edmonton, AB) showcased her skills as the setter, recording 23 assists.
The match was a testament to the skill and determination of both teams. Despite the intense competition, the players displayed sportsmanship and teamwork throughout.
The Grizzlies return to the court tomorrow for the final match of the 2023-24 season against La Cite.
