SECOND HALF COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AGAINST SENECA

The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team hosted their east division rivals the Seneca Sting on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.

Georgian's men's team got out a tough start, struggling to score, particularly in the second quarter where they were held to just an 18.8% shooting percentage which led to a 49-24 halftime lead for Seneca.

In the second half the Grizzlies came alive scoring 29 points in the third quarter alone to get back into the game but the deficit was too much to overcome as they ultimately fell 81-65 to the Sting.

Tyler Vanessen (Whitby) led the way for the Grizzlies with a double-double with a team high 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Teammates Samuel Odzenma (Mississauga) had 14 points and Braeden Wilkinson (Ottawa) had 11 points in 14 minutes off the bench.

The loss drops the Grizzlies season record to 4-2 as they now sit in third place in the OCAA east division standings

The Grizzlies will play their next home game on Wednesday, Nov. 13 when they host the George Brown Huskies.

The women's game gets underway at 6 p.m. followed by the men's game at 8 p.m. Tickets to the double-header are available at the doors for $5. If you can't attend the game, you can watch the livestream broadcast by visiting GeorgianGrizzlies.ca/WatchLive.
