CROSS COUNTRY BATTLES HEAT AT FLEMING
The Grizzlies faced some extreme heat well above 30 degrees at the Fleming Invitational on Sunday in Peterborough.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's cross country teams battled incredibly hot conditions as they took part in the Fleming Invitational on Sunday in Peterborough.
First year runner Jessica Roach (Orillia) had a good day finishing as the top Georgian runner in 14th place overall in the women's 6km race. Teammate Meaghan Evon (Barrie) also finished inside the top 30 with a 27th place finish.
Overall the women's team finished in sixth place at the event.
Tyler Thomson (Bracebridge) was the top Grizzlies runner in the men's 8km race side finishing in 29th place. Gill Garrido (Bracebridge) and Aurel Fox (Sudbury) were right behind finishing in 34th and 35th respectively.
The Grizzlies will be back in action this coming Saturday, Sept. 30 when they take part in the Seneca Invitational in King City.
