TOUGH LOSS FOR WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL AGAINST STING
Quinn McGregor led the team with eight kills but Seneca snapped Georgian's five game winning streak on Friday night.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team hosted their first home game of the second half of their OCAA regular season schedule on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
The Grizzlies had a tough time finding any rhythm to their game as they fell in three straight sets to the Sting 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-10).
Quinn McGregor (Lindsay) led the team with eight kills along with an ace while last week's CCAA and OCAA women's volleyball athlete of the week Camryn Morgan (Barrie) had seven kills and two aces.
Georgian hopes this is a minor blip as the loss snaps a five game winning streak. The Grizzlies are 7-4 on the season and they sit in fifth place in the OCAA east division standings.
The Grizzlies will next travel to face their rivals, the Durham Lords this coming Tuesday, Jan. 23 in Oshawa. Georgian will then begin a stretch of their final three home regular season games starting on Friday, Jan. 26 when they host the Centennial Colts at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The game gets underway at 6 p.m. with tickets available at the doors for $5.
