WOMEN'S INDOOR SOCCER MAKE FINALS AT SEASON OPENER
The Georgian Grizzlies women's indoor soccer team had a great start to their season on Friday in Kitchener, ON
The Georgian Grizzlies women's indoor soccer team opened their 2018 OCAA season on Friday when they took part in the Conestoga Invitational Tournament in Kitchener, ON.
The Grizzlies were impressive with a new young group of players.
Georgian opened up the tournament with a burst of offence as they defeated the St. Lawrence – Brockville Schooners 5-1. They had another strong effort in their second match defeating the Conestoga Condors 3-1 to give them a berth in the tournament finals.
Facing a tough Sheridan Bruins, the Grizzlies came up a bit short in the finals falling 4-0.
Georgian will next play at the George Brown Invitational on Thursday, Feb. 1 in Toronto, ON.
The Grizzlies will host their own home tournament on Friday, Feb. 16 at the Bradford Sports Dome in Bradford, ON. That will be Georgian's final tune-up before they compete in the OCAA regionals hosted by Seneca College on Mar. 7.
