WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FALL IN PLAYOFFS TO HAWKS
Mckenzie Howlett led the Grizzlies with 13 points but Georgian's season came to an end as they fell to the Hawks.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team travelled to face the Humber Hawks in a crossover playoff game on Friday night with the winner advancing to the 2019 OCAA Women's Basketball Championship hosted by St. Lawrence College.
The game was played at a neutral site at the University of Toronto Mississauga, due to Humber hosting the men's volleyball championship.
It was a tough match-up for the Grizzlies as they were facing the west division's second ranked team with just two loses on their record for the season.
Georgian was unable to match Humber's scoring falling 78-28 to the Hawks.
Mckenzie Howlett (Barrie) led the Grizzlies with a 13 point performance while teammate Cassidy Warren-Timpano (Barrie) had 12 points.
While it was a tough playoff loss for the Grizzlies, the team showed many improvements over the course of the year. With the majority of the team expected to return, the Grizzlies are in a good position heading forward.
