WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RUN OUT OF STEAM AGAINST HUSKIES
The Grizzlies women's basketball team kept pace with the number one team in the east division through three quarters.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team travelled to face the top team in the OCAA east division standings in the George Brown Huskies on Wednesday night in Toronto.
It was a tough match and the Grizzlies battled for every inch against the Huskies.
Georgian held their own through the first three quarters, trailing by just two points heading into the final frame. George Brown used their depth from there to wear down the Grizzlies as the Huskies took the match 73-52.
Debinique Knowles (Bahamas) had her best game in a Grizzlies uniform registering a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Teammate Jessica Stockdale (Orillia) also had a solid game scoring 11 points while leading the team in minutes.
The Grizzlies will play their final home game of the regular season when they host the St. Lawrence Vikings on Saturday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The game tips-off at 1 p.m. with tickets available at the doors for $5.
Prior to the game there will be a special ceremony recognizing Georgian's graduating student-athletes.
