WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CLUTCH WITH HUGE WIN
The Grizzlies needed a win over Durham and they got it beating the Lords 61-56 on Tuesday night
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team played their final game of the regular season when they hosted the Durham Lords on Tuesday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The Grizzlies had their backs against the wall for their playoff lives and they came through in the clutch.
Georgian were the more desperate team and it showed on the scoreboard as they came through with a resilient 61-56 victory.
Hannah Pearsall (Guelph) had a team high 21 points along with 11 rebounds while teammate Leah Bracken (St. Catharines) had 16 points.
Maybe the biggest shot of the game came from graduating guard Keshia Jacques (Owen Sound) who hit a late three-pointer to cement the win for the Grizzlies.
It was a huge win for Georgian's playoff hopes as they now move into sole possession of sixth in the OCAA east division standings and the final playoff spot. They finish their season with one more win than the George Brown Huskies who still have two games remaining.
Georgian does hold the tiebreaker against the Huskies so George Brown will have to win their final two games this weekend to knock the Grizzlies out of that final playoff spot.
