WOMEN'S BASKETBALL IN TOUGH AFTER LOSS TO HUSKIES
The Grizzlies couldn't recover from a tough start losing 58-42 to George Brown on Sunday
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team travelled to face the George Brown Huskies on Sunday night in Toronto, ON.
The game is their third and final head-to-head meeting of the season and there was plenty on the line in the match-up.
Unfortunately for the Grizzlies they couldn't find their scoring touch early and they weren't able to recover falling 58-42.
Leah Bracken (St. Catharines) led the way for the Grizzlies with 20 points.
The loss puts the Grizzlies in a tough spot as they are now tied with the Huskies for wins in the sixth and final playoff spot in the OCAA east division.
The good news is that Georgian holds the tiebreak on the Huskies with a 2-1 against George Brown this season. The Huskies however have a game in hand on the Grizzlies with two games left as opposed to the Grizzlies one.
Georgian will play their final regular season game on Tuesday, Feb. 14 when they host the Durham Lords at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 6 p.m. The Grizzlies will then have to wait and watch the results of George Brown's final two games Feb. 17 @ Loyalist and Feb. 18 @ St. Lawrence-Kingston to learn their playoff destiny.
