MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROP OPENER IN TIGHT CONTEST TO NIAGARA

The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team opened up the 2019 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship hosted by Humber College on Thursday night against the Niagara Knights in Etobicoke.
It was a thrilling quarter-final matchup with both teams taking control of the game back and forth.
After dropping the first set, the Grizzlies managed to battle back to take the next two sets and hold a lead in the fourth set, but the Knights battled back.
Niagara was able to take comeback to take the fourth set and complete the comeback in the fifth and deciding set to win the match 3-2 with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 17-25, 25-21 and 15-8.
Erich Perau (Peterborough) had a team high 15 points from 13 kills and two blocks while Jordi Romero (Brampton) had a solid game with 13 points.
Liam Gray (Barrie) was named the player of the game for Georgian scoring 11 points from four aces, four blocks and three kills while also recording 34 assists.
The loss ends the medal hopes of the Grizzlies but the team will be back in action on Friday afternoon when they take on the Mohawk Mountaineers in the consolation semi-final.
