MEN'S VOLLEYBALL CONTINUE TO ROLL AGAINST THUNDER
Liam Gray had another five aces as the Grizzlies defeated the Thunder 3-1 on Friday night in Ottawa.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team started their eastern road swing on Friday night against the Algonquin Thunder in Ottawa.
Georgian had an excellent game winning in convincing fashion 3-1 with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-13 and 25-14.
Erich Perau (Peterborough) had a tremendous game leading the team with a 23 point effort from 19 kills, three aces and a block. It was his highest scoring game since joining the Grizzlies this season.
Liam Gray (Barrie) was solid once again with 26 assists and five more aces bringing his total to 23 on the season to lead all OCAA players.
It was just the first time the Grizzlies have lost a set this season. The Grizzlies sit in a tie for first place in the OCAA east division standings with a 4-0 record.
The only two undefeated teams in the east division will face each other on Saturday when Georgian faces the La Cite Coyotes (4-0) on the road.
Georgian will play their next home game on Wednesday, Nov. 14 when they host the Durham Lords at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
Tickets are available at the doors for $5 plus the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free "GC State" wristband.
