The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team hosted the Loyalist Lancers on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
Liam Gray stole the show.
The former two-time CCAA All-Canadian had an incredible game registering 15 aces to set a new OCAA record for most aces in a single game.
The previous record was 12 aces held by Tim Trites (Fleming 2004-04), Jasmin Cull (Mohawk 2007-08) and Jamie Mayer (Durham 2009-10).
The Barrie native had nine aces alone as part of a 14-0 run for the Grizzlies to start the second set.
Georgian played a solid game sweeping the Lancers 3-0 with set scores of 25-16, 25-9 and 25-11.
Erich Perau (Peterborough) also had a great game for the Grizzlies leading the team with 10 kills.
The Grizzlies improved their record to 3-0 on the season and have yet to drop a set.
Next up for the men's volleyball team is an eastern road trip to Ottawa to face the Algonquin Thunder on Nov. 2 followed by a match against the La Cite Coyotes on Nov. 3.
The Grizzlies will play their next home game on Wednesday, Nov. 14 when they host the Durham Lords. The women's game begins at 6 p.m. with the men's game following at 8 p.m.
The first 500 people in attendance at the double-header will receive a FREE "GC State" wristband with tickets available at the door for $5.
