Darien Haynes and the rest of the Grizzlies men's volleyball team went 3-1 at the Seneca Sting Challenge this past weekend.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team looked to defend their title at the Seneca Sting Challenge this weekend in Toronto.
The Grizzlies got off to a great start at the tournament with matching 3-0 wins over the Conestoga Condors and Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Friday.
On day two the Grizzlies faced a tough opponent in the Humber Hawks who beat the Grizzlies 3-0, in three competitive sets.
The loss eliminated the possibility of the Grizzlies repeating as tournament champions which they won last season.
Georgian rebounded in their final match of the tournament, winning a tight five set match over the Mohawk Mountaineers 3-2.
Overall the Grizzlies finished the tournament with a strong 3-1 record.
The focus now shifts for the Grizzlies to the OCAA regular season which begins this coming Friday, Oct. 19 when Georgian hosts the Seneca Sting in their home opener.
Tickets are available for the men's and women's double-header which begins at 6 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre for $5 at the door.
