LIAM GRAY NAMED OCAA MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Georgian's Liam Gray was named OCAA Men's Volleyball Athlete of the Week after a strong week on the court.
Georgian's Liam Gray (Barrie) was named as the OCAA men's volleyball athlete of the week for his efforts last week.
The third-year setter helped three of his teammates hit double digits in kills in Georgian's four-set home victory over George Brown on Jan. 31, which clinched first place in the East Division. Gray's 42 assists helped Ryan DeBruyn (Ottawa) earn a match-high 14 kills, while Grizzlies Jake Edwards (Barrie) and Matt Kerr (Wingham) each had 11. Gray is the only OCAA player averaging over 10 assists per set.
Gray, was a named Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Canadian last year while also being named an OCAA east division first team all-star.
Georgian will host the 2018 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship from Feb. 22-24 at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
