GRIZZLIES KEEP ROLLING IN WIN OVER PANTHERS
Justin Burke and the Georgian Grizzlies picked up their third straight win to start the season defeating Canadore 3-1 on Saturday.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team hosted the visiting Canadore Panthers on Saturday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The Grizzlies came out on fire to take the first set overwhelmingly 25-8.
Canadore answered back in the second set 25-21. After taking a tight third set 25-23, the Grizzlies closed it out in the fourth set 25-12 to win the match 3-1.
Ryan DeBruyn (Ottawa) was strong once again for the Grizzlies registering 16 kills along with an ace and a block. Fellow fifth year veteran Jake Edwards (Barrie) had a solid game with 15 points from 11 kills, three blocks and an ace.
The Grizzlies move to 3-0 on the season with the win.
Georgian will head out on the road next weekend to play the George Brown Huskies on Friday, Nov. 3.
After that the Grizzlies return home for a pair of games, first on Saturday, Nov. 11 against the Algonquin Thunder at 1 & 3 p.m. followed by a game against the La Cite Coyotes on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 12 & 2 p.m. All of those games take place at the Georgian Athletic Centre with tickets available at the door for $5. Students can pick up FREE tickets in advance at the Athletic Centre front desk with their student card.
