GRIZZLIES WITH BIG COMEBACK TO STAY PERFECT
It wasn't easy but the Grizzlies battled back to win the final two sets to defeat Fleming 3-2 on Saturday
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team mounted an impressive comeback to keep their perfect record intact on Saturday night as they travelled to face the Fleming Knights.
Georgian found themselves trailing 2-1 and were staring their first loss of the regular season in the face. The Grizzlies dug deep and mounted an impressive comeback taking the next two tight sets to win the match 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 14-25, 25-21, 15-12).
Adam Bielby (Barrie) led the team with 19 kills on the night while Liam Gray (Barrie) was strong with 42 assists and 14 digs.
The win moves the Grizzlies to 17-0 on the season with one game remaining in the regular season and they could achieve the first perfect record in school history with a win.
The Grizzlies will take on the Loyalist Lancers on Sunday, Feb. 12 to close out the regular season.
Georgian is already guaranteed a direct bye to the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship presented by belairdirect which will take place Feb. 24-26 hosted by Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON.
