MEN’S RUGBY CAPTAIN HENRY DO JOINS RUGBY ONTARIO OFFICE
Henry Do has joined Rugby Ontario as Coach and Match Official Development Intern for the 2018 season.
Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby player Henry Do has joined Rugby Ontario's head office as the Coach and Match Official Development Intern for the 2018 season.
Do served as a captain for Georgian's men's rugby this past season leading the team to a perfect 6-0 regular season record and finished off with an OCAA bronze medal win.
The third year fly half scored five tries in five regular season games while adding a try in the semi-final playoff game and three tries in the bronze medal final where he was also named player of the match.
The Brampton native was named OCAA men's rugby player of the year and an OCAA all-star for his season.
Now he will start a new chapter and is excited at the possibilities.
"I'm so excited," said Do. "I'm very passionate about rugby. I'm not sure how it will all play out but all I know is I want rugby to be part of my future whether it's coaching, management or youth development."
"To be able to learn more about what goes into the development side is something I'm really looking forward to."
A student in the Recreation and Leisure Services program, Do credits his time at Georgian and particularly playing for men's rugby Head Coach John Daggett with his personal development.
"Playing for Coach Daggett the last two years has helped me grow. He entrusted me to be the team captain this year and I loved the experience especially working with our young players."
"John helped lead me to this opportunity with Rugby Ontario and I am forever grateful," added Do.
Do started his internship this week at the Rugby Ontario Office in Whitby where he will primarily assist with upcoming coach and match official courses.
