SIX MEN’S RUGBY PLAYERS RECOGNIZED WITH OCAA AWARDS
Ryan Connolly, Jordan Carppi, Jayden Norcross, Nana Ntim, Henry Do & Kirk Addai Sarfo were awarded individual OCAA awards
Six members of the Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team were recognized following the OCAA bronze medal game with individual awards.
Henry Do was named OCAA men's rugby player of the year after an incredible season which saw the third year fly half score five tries in five regular season games. He also added a try in the semi-final playoff game and three tries in the bronze medal final where he was also named player of the match.
Serving as Georgian's team captain, the Brampton native was a leader on both sides of the ball and was instrumental in leading the Grizzlies to a perfect 6-0 regular season record with the team posting a team record in points scored for with 414. Do was also named an OCAA All-Star.
Ryan Connolly was named the OCAA rookie of the year for the west division and the entire league. The Barrie native played in all six regular season games for the Grizzlies and scored a try and recorded three converts.
This is the second straight year that a player from Georgian has won the player of the year and rookie of the year awards for the OCAA.
Four additional Grizzlies were named as OCAA All-Stars.
Nana Ntim (Bradford) scored seven tries in six regular season games, Kirk Addai Sarfo (Bradford) scored seven tries in five games, Jayden Norcross (Beeton) had three tries in five games and Jordan Carppi (Lindsay) scored three tries in four games. All played key roles on this year's team and were among the top scorers in the OCAA.
