GEORGIAN MEN’S RUGBY WIN BIG OVER SENECA ON THE ROAD
The Grizzlies put together another impressive performance to defeat the Sting 92-3 to move to a perfect 5-0 on the season.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team continued their dominant play since the start of the OCAA regular season on Thursday afternoon when they travelled to take on the Seneca Sting at Fletcher's Field in Markham, ON.
The Grizzlies have been the OCAA's highest scoring team to this point in the season and that was cemented with a 92-3 win over the Sting.
Georgian has now scored 385 points through their first five games this season while the other four OCAA west division teams have scored 379 points combined.
James Hulbert (Aurora) had another big kicking game as he was successful on 11 converts from Georgian's 14 tries to lead the team with a 22 point effort.
Kirk Addai Sarfo (Bradford), Henry Do (Brampton), Donovan Jacko (Brampton), Jayden Norcross (Beeton), Nana Ntim (Bradford), Noah Spicer (Aurora) each had multi-try games for the Grizzlies.
Jordan Carppi (Lindsay) and Josh Michalik (Barrie) also scored individual tries.
The Grizzlies remain in first place in the OCAA west division with a 5-0 record, one win up on the Sheridan Bruins who are also undefeated but have played one less game. Sheridan will play their fifth game of the season on Oct. 14 against the Mohawk Mountaineers.
A win by Sheridan in that contest will set up a big regular season finale.
Georgian will then Sheridan on Sunday, Oct. 22 at J.C. Massie Field at 1 p.m. on the Georgian College Barrie campus in a match that will determine who wins the OCAA west division.
Tickets for the game are available for $5 at the door. Students can pick up tickets to the game for FREE in advance at the Athletic Centre front desk on the Barrie campus.
