GRIZZLIES SHINE UNDER NEW LIGHTS IN IMPRESSIVE WIN OVER SENECA

After the christening of the newly named J.C. Massie Field on the Barrie campus of Georgian College earlier in the day, the Grizzlies men's rugby team played the first night home game in their history when they hosted the Seneca Sting on Friday night.
The Grizzlies continued their strong start as they hit the midway point of the season as they defeated the Sting 55-10.
Joshua Michalik (Barrie) set the tone under the new LED lights scoring two early tries to give the Grizzlies the lead. James Hulbert (Aurora) continued his strong ability to put points on the board as he scored five converts.
The other Georgian tries were scored by Edwin Addai Sarfo (Bradford), Kirk Addai Sarfo (Bradford), Jake Boulding (Barrie), Matthew Comeau (Lindsay), Lucas Cunningham (Bradford), Donovan Jacko (Brampton) and Jayden Norcross (Beeton).
The Grizzlies now hold a 3-0 record on the season and sit atop the OCAA west division standings.
Georgian will be back in action next Saturday, Sept. 30 when they travel to face the Mohawk Mountaineers in Hamilton. The Grizzlies next home game is their regular season finale when they host the Sheridan Bruins at J.C. Massie Field on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.
