MEN’S BASKETBALL SEASON ENDS WITH QUARTER-FINAL LOSS TO HAWKS
Samuel Odzenma was named player of the game for the Grizzlies scoring a team-high 19 points.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team took on the Humber Hawks in the quarter-final match of the 2020 OCAA Men's Basketball Championship on Friday afternoon hosted by Lambton College in Sarnia, ON.
Georgian fell behind in the game early to the Hawks and did their best to catch-up but it wasn't enough as they were eliminated from the Championship, as the Hawks won 88-60.
Samuel Odzenma (Mississagua) led the Grizzlies in scoring with a team-high 19 points and was named player of the game for Georgian while Kevonte Anderson (Innisfil) had 12 points off the bench.
This is the second year in a row that the Hawks have defeated the Grizzlies in the opening match of the provincial championship. With this year's change in format at provincials, the Grizzlies season has come to an end.
The Grizzlies qualified for the Championship by defeating the Mohawk Mountaineers 88-78 in a crossover playoff game at home last weekend.
