GRIZZLIES KNOCK OUT LIONS IN CONSOLATION SEMI-FINAL

The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team had a big effort on Friday afternoon when they took on the Lambton Lions in the consolation semi-final of the 2019 belairdirect OCAA Men's Basketball Championship hosted by Georgian College in Barrie.
The Grizzlies came out with an inspired effort scoring early and often which led to an impressive 110-94 victory.
Anthony Meggo (Whitby) had a huge game for the Grizzlies scoring a game-high 32 points while adding 10 assists for a double-double.
Teammate Nikyle Williams-McIntosh (Newmarket) had yet another solid game for the Grizzlies scoring 23 points.
The win moves the Grizzlies in to the consolation final which will be played Saturday afternoon where they will meet the Redeemer Royals at 12:05 p.m. The Royals defeated the Fanshawe Falcons 111-81 earlier on Friday in the other consolation semi.
Saturday's action begins with the consolation final followed by the bronze medal match at 3 p.m. and the gold medal final at 5:05 p.m.
