MEN'S BASKETBALL CAN'T PACE LANCERS
Sean Dutton and the Grizzlies couldn't close the gap and the Loyalist Lancers pulled away in a 94-47 win over Georgian on Saturday.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team hosted the Loyalist Lancers at the Georgian Athletic on Saturday in Barrie.
It was a tough game for Georgian.
The Lancers came out scoring early and often with the Grizzlies spending the majority of the game chasing Loyalist from behind.
It was not Georgian's day as the Lancers pulled away in a 94-47 victory.
Anthony Meggo (Whitby) led the Grizzlies in scoring matching a personal season high with 18 points.
Tyler Vanessen (Whitby) had 14 points and led the Grizzlies with nine rebounds while Sean Dutton (Orillia) was solid off the bench with eight points in just over 24 minutes.
The Grizzlies record fell to 1-2 on the season.
The men's team will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 2 when the Grizzlies host the Canadore Panthers at 7 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
Next Grizzlies home double-header will be on Thursday, Nov. 8 when Georgian hosts the Centennial Colts at the Athletic Centre. The women's game goes at 6 p.m. with the men's game following at 8 p.m.
