MEN'S BASKETBALL FALL IN NAIL-BITER TO CENTENNIAL
It was a tight game throughout but the Colts were able to pull away late to defeat the Grizzlies 93-85
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team hosted the Centennial Colts on Wednesday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie, ON.
It was a tight match-up throughout with both teams taking over the lead back and forth. In a final quarter it was the Colts who were able to pull ahead to take the win 93-85.
Connor Laronde (Barrie) led the Grizzlies with a 22 point effort and Daniel Martyn (Barrie) had a season high 16 points while shooting perfect on all seven of his shots from the field.
Aaron Sutton (Newmarket) had a strong gritty effort scoring 13 points along with leading the team with nine rebounds.
The loss gives the Grizzlies a 5-4 record on the season as they sit in fifth place in the OCAA east division standings one spot behind the Colts.
The Grizzlies men's team will have one final game before the mid-season break as they will travel to face the Fleming Knights this Saturday, Dec. 2 in Peterborough, ON.
