STRONG SECOND HALF CATAPULTS HUSKIES OVER GRIZZLIES
Michael Chao had 15 points but it wasn't enough as the Grizzlies fell to the undefeated Huskies 71-58 on Tuesday night.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team hosted the undefeated George Brown Huskies on Tuesday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The Grizzlies got off to a good start matching the Huskies shot for shot with Georgian holding a three point lead at halftime.
The second half was a different story with the Huskies taking off offensively outscoring the Grizzlies 42-26 in the second half leading to a 71-58 win for George Brown.
Connor Laronde (Barrie) scored a team high 19 points while Michael Chao (Newmarket) had 15 points in the loss.
The Grizzlies fall to 4-3 on the season but are still in fourth place in a crowded OCAA east division.
Georgian will next play on Saturday, Nov. 25 when they hit the road to take on the Canadore Panthers in North Bay.
The Grizzlies will play their final game of the first half of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 29 when they host the Centennial Colts at the Georgian Athletic Centre. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. with tickets available at the doors for $5. Students can pick up FREE tickets in advance when visiting the Athletic Centre front desk.
