GRIZZLIES FALL IN OVERTIME HEARTBREAKER TO LORDS
Anthony Meggo had a team high 32 points but it wasn't enough as the Grizzlies fell 105-103 in overtime
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team hosted their rivals the Durham Lords on Tuesday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
It was an incredible game between two evenly matched teams.
The Grizzlies were in control for the majority of the game but a late fourth quarter surge by the Lords sent the game to overtime.
In overtime, both teams went back and forth but it came down to a last second possession that just rimmed out for the Grizzlies giving the Lords the 105-103 victory.
The Grizzlies had three stand-out performances from Anthony Meggo (Whitby) leading the team with 32 points, Connor Laronde (Barrie) who had a season high 29 points and Johnathan Edwards (Brampton) with a 20 point effort.
The game was Georgian's first overtime game since Nov. 15, 2014. The loss moves the Grizzlies to a 4-2 record on the season.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 14 when they host the George Brown Huskies at the Georgian Athletic Centre. Game time is scheduled for 8 p.m. with tickets are available at the door for $5.
