GRIZZLIES SWEEP WEEKEND ROAD TRIP WITH WIN OVER VIKINGS
Georgian won back-to-back games on the road this past weekend finishing with a 69-58 win over St. Lawrence on Saturday.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team wrapped up their first road trip of the season on Saturday afternoon when they took on the St. Lawrence Vikings in Kingston, ON.
The Grizzlies continued their red-hot start to the year and came up big in an important early season game defeating the Vikings 69-58.
It wasn't a great start for the Grizzlies as they were only able to score 24 points in the first half shooting only 33.3%. In the second half Georgian really found their game, settling in by jumping their shooting percentage to over 50% and outscored the Vikings 45-34 in the half to secure the win.
Connor Laronde (Barrie) had an incredible game scoring a team high 22 points while Johnathan Edwards (Brampton) hit double figures in scoring for the fourth straight game with 19 points.
The Grizzlies are now sitting at 4-1 on the season and sit in a tie for second place in the OCAA east division standings. Georgian are staring at their next pair of games where they will host fellow second place team, the Durham Lords and the first place George Brown Huskies.
Georgian will host their rivals the Durham Lords on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the doors for $5. Students can pick up tickets for FREE in advance at the Athletic Centre front desk.
