Vanessen drains 30 as Grizzlies beat Panthers
Georgian's Tyler Vanessen scores over a couple of Panthers as part of a 30 point night as the Grizzlies won 85-78 on Friday.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team played a wildly entertaining game on Friday night as they hosted the Canadore Panthers at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
Not much separated the two teams during the game other than some monster games by a pair of Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies had a huge effort from Tyler Vanessen who scored a career-high 30 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Teammate Connor Laronde matched a season-high with 25 points and was dominant driving the lane.
In the end it was the Grizzlies who came out on top 85-78.
The win brings Georgian back to a .500 record at 4-4 and they sit in a tie for fifth place in the tight OCAA east division standings.
The Grizzlies will play their final game of the first half of the regular season next Friday, Dec. 2 when they host the George Brown Huskies at 8 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
